These are a Few of my Favorite Things

For my benefit just as much as yours, I have made up a list of the things that I miss from home. I have left out the obvious ones like "Mommy, Daddy, Keren, and Gene0", not because I don't miss them but because that would be kinda cheating, and not interesting all at to read a list of names. These are not in any particular order, either. Just some random stuff. And not so random.
What I miss in Brasil:
- my guitar
-Starbucks frappucinos!!! (that one's for you, Katie!)
-having AIM availible at my fingertips. (but its probably a good thing I dont!)
-being able to call anywhere in the US on my cell phone
-my car and being able to drive- not having to rely on everyone else with cars and other schedules and things to do
-knowing my way around a city
-random calls from my dad on his way home from work
-being able to talk to my sister (and for that matter, everyone else)
-Chicken Finger Wednesday :o)
-hearing Kristy go "Holla!"
- the couches at the Center (and even the smelly Rusty pillows. Actually, on second thought, not the smelly pillows.)
-being able to walk to school
-the Horseshoe
-the patio behind the Russell House (i dunno- i just like it there)
-bear hugs (everyone here does the kiss on the cheek thing)
-watching The Princess Bride
-being able to make meaningful input in a conversation
- the salad bar at the GiMP

But let's move on to other things, like what I really like about Brasil:
-dude, its Brasil
-X-Frango (I swear its the best chicken sandwich you will ever eat)
-Ades- this fruit juice with soy thats sooooo good
-the proliferation of ice cream
-"isso" (if you draw it out, its so much fun to say!)
-english movies with portugues legends
- when people know I speak English and try to say "goot moorneen" or "what de f*** ees goeen on?"
-or when they try to sing along to the english hip hop songs on the radio
-Sagu- its a pudding with the texture of tapioca, only made with wine- yummy!
-I'm legal to drink here!
-seeing green and yellow and blue on the flag instead of red, white, and blue. (is that un-patriotic?)
-lauging at the proliferation of McDonald's ice cream stands
-laughing at myself when people talk really fast and I can't understand what the heck is going on
-Yôga classes and the people there- its really awesome
-learning songs in portuguese
-açaí na tigela- a really yummy, healthy, energetic fruit in smoothie form

I add more to both lists everyday, so I guess its good to have two. I could complain, but why should I? :o)
